Myristica fragrans

Two Extraordinary Spices. One Remarkable Fruit.

When a ripe nutmeg fruit splits on the tree, it shows a glossy dark seed wrapped in crimson lace. The lace is mace. The seed is nutmeg. They are separated by hand and dried apart, so one fruit gives the kitchen two quite different spices.

  1. Fresh. Crimson and supple, just lifted from the seed.

  2. Drying. Laid out flat, it shifts from red towards orange.

  3. Dried. Amber-orange, brittle and intensely fragrant.

Four senses of Ghame

Heritage, modern life, connection and nature. Every pack carries all four.

Sense of Heritage

Centuries of Sri Lankan spice knowledge.

Cinnamon and pepper drew traders to this island for centuries. That knowledge still guides how we clean, dry and grind.

Sense of Modern Urban

Authentic flavour designed for today's world.

From a Colombo apartment kitchen to a hotel pass, the same honest spice, ready when the pan is hot.

Sense of Spiritual

Food that connects people, place and purpose.

Food connects people, places and generations. We make spices for the meals that bring everyone to the table.

Sense of Nature

The journey begins with the land.

Rain, soil, sun and time. Then nothing added: no colours, no flavour enhancers, no fragrances.
